Paul D. Escott


Paul Escott joined the firm in January 2016 as Of Counsel at the same time he became the Lafayette City-Parish Attorney. One of only a few select individuals in the State of Louisiana, Paul possesses the rare combination of a Bachelors of Architecture and a license to practice law. With over 30 years of legal experience, Paul has handled a variety of multi-party construction litigation cases and is a certified arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.

Paul handles numerous legal matters, both litigation and contractual, involving the operations and management of city-parish government. That work includes opinions on the provisions of the home rule charter and ordinances, and preparing and developing new and amending ordinances that adopt and implement new rules and policies.
